Chicken Soup

This cute image is a digi from Doodle Pantry's "My Scrap Chicks". I forgot I had them and decided to make a card with it when I found them in my Digi Folder file on my computer. I hope it will brighten the recipient's days during recovery.

** Pattern Paper - Single sheet from Michael's.
** Image -  From "Doodle Pantry", which I colored with water-color pencils. I cut the image with a metal "Stitched Square" die by Cottage Cutz
** Photo Corners - "My Little Paper World"
** Sentiment & Tag - Cut and written on Cricut Explore machine. Matted with 3-D squares for a popped-out effect.

Baseball MVP 2017

I made this card using this week's sketch at https://paperplaysketches.blogspot.com/ . My grandson is a  baseball player at his high school. When I saw this sketch with all the circles, right away I thought of him and "baseballs". Here is my card I created from the inspiration from its' very talented Design Team members.
**Base Pattern Cardstock - From the Me&myBIGideas "Champs" 8"x8" stack.
**Blue Strip - I used an "eksuccess"  Stars border punch and matted with a darker blue strip.
**Circles - Are from a 2.50" Recollections Circle Punch. Each is embossed with a different Darice embossing folder. Red w/ "Stars", Blue w/"Argyle", and White w/"Clouds".
**Ball, cap, and MVP -  Are "eksuccess Sticko" stick-ons.
** Three small dots - Used a regular paper puncher

Love You: Apple

I made this card using the nice simple sketch by Karren at http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/ .
It was a very easy and quick card to make, the only part that took the most time to make was just cutting and assembling the four apple layers.
APPLE: The apple image is a four -layer cut from the "Doodle Charms" Cricut cartridge. I used the "FLIP" function on my Explore to flip the original image so the stem and leaf would be on the left side of the apple, I did not want to end up cutting them all off from the right side of the card.
Base Pattern: DCWV "Stack 9" stack.
Sentiment - Close to My Heart stamp.
The "shine" to the apple I matted with silver metallic cardstock, and it looks really cool...so sad it appears black on the card. 😢

Bees are A-BUZZ'ING

Images of Bumble Bees are so adorable...not so much real Bees, though! This week at the http://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/ our challenge is to create a card "Off the Edge". I really liked this challenge, I have never created an Off the Edge card before, and the DT members inspiration was WOW!! Here is what I created, hope you like it!
*** Pattern Paper - Is from an old card kit I have, sorry, don't have kit name.
*** "Thanks" - Is actually made out of wood with the "Thanks" cut out like what looks like a laser cut. I left the right side of it "Off the Edge". The letter "s" is left hanging with no back ground.
*** Bumble Bee - Is also an old Digi from my Digi stash, no name, sorry. I used water-color pencils to color it.
*** Hearts - Are gems from Michael's Craft Store.

Bubble Thanks

One can never have too many "Thank You" cards on hand. But, it seems we always have more female than male "Thank You" cards....and, what do I come up with??? ...a "Thank You" card for a female!! So....Thank you, Thank you, very much!
Floral Pattern - DCWV "Stack 9" stack
Solid - From my always dependable Scrap Box.
Circle - Four inch Doily from Wilton products.
Butterfly - "Paper Embellishments" set, from Michael's Craft Store.
Flower - From my flower stash (sorry, no name)
Brads - "My Minds Eye" brad collection by Jayne Allyson
Embossing - Orange: Cuttlebug "Floral Fantasy". Blue: CuttleBug Anna Griffin "Matelassé" folders.
I twisted four strands of embroidery thread to create the strip at the bottom.

Play Ball!
Here is the card I made for the challenge sketch this week designed by Cécile at http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/. The sketch is simple, but so many ways to interpret it, as seen by the great samples provided by the Design Team members. Check it out!
*** On the white base card I used plain Baby Blue cardstock, which I embossed with a Darice "Clouds" folder, to make it appear like the baseballs are "flying" through the sky.
*** Baseballs - I used an image from the Cricut "Sports Mania" cartridge to cut three baseballs in three different sizes. I matted them with red cardstock to show through, for the "red stitching". Then  embossed all three with a Cuttlebug "Hounds Tooth" folder for texture.
***Sentiment - "Baseball is Life" is also an image written on Explore, from the "Sports Mania" cartridge.

Flowers & Pearls

I created this card using a sketch from Paper Play Sketches, but oops! I missed the cut-off date. I also used the Color Combo Challenge hosted by LeAnne at http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/. I really am surprised at how pretty these colors look when combined.
* Yellow & Blue Cardstock - From DCWV 8x8" Scalloped cardstock stack. This cardstock has an almost linen texture to it and is very pretty in person. But, it made it a little difficult to stamp on it.
* Flowers - Recollections mini punch, added tiny blue and yellow pearls to the centers.
* Leaves - Cut from scrap box green paper with a Sizzix "Branch w/Leaves" die cut.
* Sentiment - From an acrylic stamp set that was gifted to me, sorry no name. Stazon inked stamp.
Sorry about the poor image, have been having camera trouble, lately.  : (  : (  : (
***** Still time to add your creation using this great color combo at The Paper Players just click link above!

Little One

Made this Baby card using a very simple sketch by Debbie Foster at this week's challenge at http://tuesdaymorningsketches.blogspot.ca/ . As simple as the sketch is, it lent itself to adding many elements to create a very nice card. Happy with the outcome!

* Base Card - From David Tutura, 5.50" square "Celebrate" assorted blank cards box.
* Pattern Paper - Green/Pink Plaid by Pizazz. Corners are a Fiskar corner punch.
* Ribbons - Assorted trim borders by Doodle Dee
* Sentiment - "Welcome": Written on Explore. "Little One" is a  Cricut cartridge cut on Explore. I added sparkle to each with a Wink of Stella pen. Sad, it didn't show up very well on the photo.
* Frame - Cricut cut from "Lacy Labels" cartridge. Matted and embossed with Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots"  folder.
* Baby Carriage - Cricut "Stamping" cartridge. Added a heart Brad, ribbon, and half of a metal snap closure you use on clothing, for the wheel centers. I added 3-D squares to pop the carriage.

Happy Birthday: Pink & Orange

I am loving this new stack from DCWV called "Pocket Blossom", it has the prettiest dainty floral patterns in it. My supply of cards for Ladies is pretty full, and I usually save floral patterns for this type of card. Some of the patterns are so dainty and girly-looking, I think I will make some for little girls, new baby, and teens. It won't go to waste...that's for sure!

* Orange cardstock - By Bazzill is 12"x12" and is called "Tangelo".
* Floral Pattern - From  DCWV  stack called "Pocket Blossom".
* Pink and Beige cardstock are from my Scrap box.
* Embossing - A new 3 piece set of border folders by Darice, I just bought called "Flourishes".
* Frame - Is a Cricut  image cut from the "Lacy Labels" cartridge
* Butterfly - Martha Stewart punch. I cut one in color Tangelo and glued it to the frame, cut another in pink and glued only the center of it to the Tangelo one, for a 3-D look.
* Happy B'day - Close to My Heart stamp from the "4 My Friend " collection.
* Flower -   Are store-bought.  Layered two sizes, added a small orange Brad to center.

My Goofy Dad

I have to have the craziest hubby in the world...and he is just as "goofy"! My daughter brings him a Goofy souvenir every time she goes to Disneyland, just to prove a point. LOL!!!
So, both my hubby and Goofy inspired this card I created.

* Water Drop Pattern - Single sheet rack from Michael's Craft Store
* Sentiment & Goofy image are computer-generated
* Clouds - Die cut from Cottage Kutz. Popped them with 3-D squares
* Waves - Are cut from blue pearl-like cardstock, which gives it a sheen. I used an "ek" border punch
* Fish - Images I down-loaded from the Internet and then fussy cut them.
* "Seaweed" - Martha Stewart punch.
