Tag Your're It!

Michele at http://tagyoureitchallenge.blogspot.com/ provided this pretty embossed tag below for the challenge this week. I was inspired by the pretty blue flowers and embossing of the whole tag.

Below is my version at trying to duplicate the pretty blues and embossing of Michelle's tag. My tag is a Cricut cartridge image, and cut out on my Explore.  I inked the whole tag very lightly with "Azure" stamp ink  by Michelle Wood. I added a simple "Enjoy!" sentiment, the letter "j" I dotted with a small pearl. The flower is from a pack of assorted blue flowers by Recollections. The embossing is a Cuttlebug "Chicken Wire" folder, for the leaves I used a Sizzix  'Branch w/Leaves" metal die.

Cardz4Guyz

Hi!
It's all about getting from "here to there" at http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.com/  this week. The theme is "Transportation". To a lot of people it is not how you get there, but how fast. But, I decided on a bike, since you can exercise at the same time!
Papers - All scraps
Bike - CTMH stamp using Stazon Black ink. I stamped it four times on white cardstock and added orange Brads to the wheel centers
Banners - Cricut cartridge image cut on Explore
Embossing - Cuttlebug "Hounds Tooth" folder
Sentiment - Is an old rubber stamp
Embellishment - I cut out a scalloped circle, cut out a button with metal  button die from white cardstock, then I applied Ranger Inkssentials "Crackle Accents" for a glossy look and added a yarn bow.  Sorry, the camera flash reflected on the black panel.

Come and Get It!

 Lovely in Pink
It's pink everywhere at http://cagichallenge.blogspot.com/ this week. Who doesn't love the color pink? My head was spinning with ideas for this challenge, so many ways to make pretty pink cards. I finally settled on this very CAS card.
All I did was start with a pink color cardstock panel, then I used my "Swiss Cheese" punch by ek Co. on the center of the panel sides. I adhered the shiny pink metallic strips (which are the negative left when making sequins) to the top and bottom of the pink panel. Sorry the strip appears black in the photo, it is a very pretty pink color, a deeper pink than the background panel. Finished the card off with  a chipboard "celebrate" embellishment....all lovely in pink!

The Male Room

The theme for this week at  http://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/  is "Olympics/ Sports". One of the events I enjoy watching the most is the Gymnastics competition. I found this very nice image on the Internet and created my card around it. I didn't want to go with the usual colors of Red, White and Blue that the USA wears because , I still have the card I made for the 2012 Olympics with the date on it and no use for it. I thought for this Olympics I would make it less "Olympic-y" and more of an encouragement card.
I did use a sort of gold color to signify the gold medals and picked up the purple color from the image as the other color for the card.

Pattern Paper - me&myBIG ideas "Champs Specialty Cardstock" stack
Image - Internet download
Top Corners - Fiskar Corner Punch
Sentiment - I added the sentiment to the image before down-loading it.
Embossing - On the gold strip I used a Cuttlebug "Spots & Dots" folder
Purple satin ribbon from my ribbon scrap container, the purple metal twirl circle I have in different colors, no idea where I bought them.

Tag Your're It! Challenge

Ahhh, Fresh Cut Flowers!

Amy's tag this week at  http://tagyoureitchallenge.blogspot.com/ had me picturing a pretty garden where her vase of pretty fresh cut flowers may have come from to use on her tag.  I was   inspired  to make a garden tag.
 My Tag
Tag - From a pack of canvas tags by Craft Smith. I wondered if I could use stamp ink on the canvas material along with assorted markers, stamp inks and Crayola Metallic markers to color the stamps....it worked!!

Butterfly & Sentiment Stamp -  By Studio G
Row of Flowers Stamp -  Stamping Up! "Simple Somethings" set
Turtle & Clouds - Metal Brads
Bow -   I made from a pack of "Eco Chic" trims from Michael's.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

Great sketch by Sally Dube  at http://sweetsketchwednesday2.blogspot.com/ .  I don't make most of my own flowers, but I like buying pre-made ones to use on my cards. I also had a chance to use one of my favorite stacks, it has a very pretty assortment of cardstock in it, some with flowers in the pattern. I like to use it when making cards for Ladies.

Papers - DCWV "French Country" stack. The floral and the green patterns have a nice shiny surface to them.
Frame - Spellbinder die, I used chipboard to mat it.
Sentiment - CTMH stamp from the " You Are My Happy: Sentiments and Icons" collection
Flowers  - Embellishments I have had for a while, sorry, don't have company name, they have a glittery look to them. The bottom pink square I embossed with a CuttleBug "Butterflies" folder and added a green gem to the two butterfly heads. Embossing is a little hard to see on photo. :(
