Cardz4Guyz

Gears
Oh, Shaker cards give me the willys!! I have such a hard time with them, but I still gave it a shot this week at http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.com/ . It took me THREE hours to finish this card, but all in all I am quite happy with it.

Gear Paper - Single sheet rack at Michael's
Sentiment - Stamped with Stazon ink using an old rubber stamp
Embossing - Cuttlebug "Gears" folder
Black Frame - Cricut cartridge image cut on Explore
I added two metal" gears" by Bead Landing from Michael's, couple of BB-like balls, silver and black metallic stars. To the scalloped circle I adhered some snaps (kind used on clothing), I don't have very many shaker items for a male shaker card. Sorry the card is crooked, trying to take photo at night and had to use a flash. Too much refection from the acetate.

The Male Room

Fireman Boy & His Dog
Had so much fun making this card. At first I thought it would be too complicated to make....so many layers, but once I started putting it together it just fell into place so easy and was not complicated after all! And, I think it is a great sketch and is one I will use again, soon.

Image - Is a Dearie Dolls "Fireman Boy" digi.
Cardstock - Scrap box, so proud of myself lately for going to my scrap box and using up my scraps instead of always starting with a whole new sheet for one small cut.
Embossing - Cuttlebug "Houndstooth" (banners) and "Cane Back Chair" (yellow panel) folders.
Photo Corner - Is a metal die from My Little Paper World Co.
Sentiment - I created text and printed out on my Explore.
Added silver brads to the Wheels. I also used my trusty Gelly Roll Clear Glitter pen on the helmet's badge and on the bell....love to add a little bit of sparkle to kids cards.

Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge

Using this nice sketch by Melissa at http://tuesdaymorningsketches.blogspot.ca/ to make this card with this awesome quote by Henry Ford. I believe it is perfect for anyone going through some sort of "turbulence" in their life and could use some comfort.

Map Pattern Paper - Printed on computer
Sentiment - Internet download
Plane - Is a Provo Craft metal mini die, plane is cut from shimmery silver cardstock and matted with Dk. Blue . I added pop dots under it, it looks so cool like it is actually flying waaaay up high above the clouds!!
Banners - Cut on the Explore. The light blue banner and the stripped panel I used my CuttleBug "Clouds" folder to emboss them.

The Paper PLayers

This card I made using the sketch at http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/ designed by LeAnne  and  thought it was perfect to make a Shaker card. I used a 3" plastic dome for the shaker, the digi of thekitty, (sorry  don't have the name/designer of it).  I used a clear glitter Gellyroll pen to highlight the balloon and ears. I added gems, glitter, sequins and a gem flower. The birthday paper is a scrap, on the pink panel I used a corner punch and matted them with pink glitter cardstock for sparkle. The panel is embossed with a "Tide" folder. The banners are cut using a red semi-sheer ribbon with glittery hearts on it.

Mojo Monday

Howdy!
I created this western themed card using this week's sketch at http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/ . Living out here in Arizona you see lots of cowboys and boots and you hear a lot of "Howdy Pardner" greetings. I was gifted a southwestern Cuttlebug embossing folder by my sister-in-law, Donna, a while back and I finally made a card using this folder for a background. I like the way it turned out.
I don't own any of the stitch dies to use as on this sketch, so I used my trusty Tim Holtz ruler that has piercing holes on it and used it. So, my card ended up with holes instead of stitches...oops!!
*Boot -  Is a matted image using a Cricut cartridge and cut on Explore. I added a silver brad to the top of the boot and to the center of the spur.
*Howdy Pardner - Is also a matted Cricut image and cut on Explore. I added a "Lasso" I made from the threads of gunny sack fabric..
*Happy Birthday - Is also cut and printed on my Explore.
*Star - Is actually an iron-on star  made of fabric.
*Background Embossing - Is a Cuttlebug "Pueblo" folder.

The Paper Players

I am having so much fun doing water color challenges, they seem to be trending at this time. I had never done these types of cards before now and it is actually quite fun and easy. Love how you can create so many color combinations using water colors or assorted types of inks. This week at http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/ we are challenged to make such a card. The card is a little wonky, guess I used too much water. I did leave it overnight under my cutting mat, it helped to flatten it a little. Here is what I came up with.

Earth - Internet download, double layered with chipboard for depth.
Sentiment -  "You Mean the World to Me"...computer printout and matted with purple cardstock.
I used assorted watercolors and stamping inks in blue, green and purple. I added some sparkle throughout the card and sentiment using a Gellyroll Clear Glitter Pen  for some "far away twinkle", not very noticeable.... sorry.

Come and Get It

Nothing like a good laugh to cheer someone up. Found this funny riddle on the Internet and thought it is perfect for a Get Well card....though by the look on this Chicken Lady's face it doesn't  look like she finds this riddle too funny!!
Chicken Image - Internet-downloaded, added small gold brads to corners
Embossing - CuttleBug "Chicken Wire" folder
Background Papers -
Checked - Studio Calico "Darling Dear" stack
Corrugate - DCWV "The Corrugate Neutrals" stack
Sentiment - " A Chuckle to Brighten Your Day!" Computer printed and matted with brown cardstock, added gold brads
Ribbon -  Assorted Trims packet from Michael's Craft Store
Added a yellow brad to center of flower and specked it with a black marker (trying to give it a "sunflower" look).
